mimoid — LIMEN vol.1 Creative studio mimoid presents its first publication, LIMEN vol.1, an anthology by animation artists.
The title “LIMEN” comes from Latin, meaning “threshold.”
The book explores the theme of “visualizing thresholds in animation” through the concept of “2-frame animation.”
Artists from around the world—including creators, animators, and visual artists—were invited to contribute two-frame still image works, which are compiled into this single volume.
The aim is for readers to experience the sensation of “reading” high-quality short animations as they go through the book.
“LIMEN” can also mean “doorway” or “entrance,” and the creators hope this book serves as a gateway into a new world of animation for its readers.
